My name is Grace Hoge and I’m from Salina, KS. I’m currently a sophomore at the University of Kansas studying Political Science after recently switching my major from pre-nursing, and I’m a member of the Delta Delta Delta Theta Omega chapter. My main interests are in equality and racial injustices, as well as feminism and LGBTQ+ rights. My dream is to one day work in human rights as an activist at the ACLU or another similar organization, or to organize political campaigns for candidates with similar passions.
Sara graduated from Salina Central High in 2017 and is currently a fourth year political science student at the University of Kansas with minors in both Business and the German language. Sara was on tack to attend medical school until the 2016 election sparked her hidden passion for politics. Since then, she has conducted extensive research in political theory and immigration. She was also an intern in the Kansas House of Representatives during the 2020 spring semester. After graduation, Sara plans to attend law school and study corporate law. When not immersed in school or politics, Sara enjoys spending her free time drawing, playing guitar, and spending time with friends and family.

HUMBERTO GOMEZ SALINAS
My name is Humberto Gomez Salinas and I am from the city of Queretaro in Central Mexico. I moved to Kansas in 2017 to study at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. I graduated in 2022 with a degree in Economics and another degree in History. Ever since I moved to Kansas I have been involved in serving the local community and the people of Kansas through different organizations and groups such as the KU Student Senate and Habitat for Humanity. I served as Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Student Senate and also as Chief of Staff, being the first international student ever hired in the history of KU for the Student Senate executive board. It is an honor to be able to bring the experiences and skills I learned in those positions to the Kansas Civic Network and I look forward to working with the team and the local/state/federal community to improve the lives of Kansans
